It’s that time of year again. School buses filling streets, planning out “first day” pictures, parents bursting with excitement (haha) while kids are soaking up their last few days of summer. That’s right, its BACK TO SCHOOL! New backpacks, lunch boxes, binders, pens, pencils, glue, markers, shoes, uniforms, and all other school supplies you can think of are flying off shelves as the new school year quickly approaches. As a teacher, this time of year was always bitter sweet. I knew I was going to miss all of my free time, but August always brings so much excitement. A new class of kids I would come to love as my own, new goals for them to achieve, new schedules and routines to implement, a new football season on the horizon, and holiday season just around the corner. The start of the new school year is always a hectic time, for parents especially. Everyone is trying to get their kids adjusted to all the newness that happens in the beginning of the year. So, when your kid comes home from school with a list of things you need to buy them for the year, of course it’s the last thing you have time for, right?
