It’s the most highly anticipated sale of the summer, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. It took me a while to decide how I wanted to cover the Nordstrom sale. Since I currently have a smaller blog, I don’t have many followers who shop at Nordstrom with the Nordstrom credit card. This past week, shoppers were only able to shop if they were current Nordstrom card holders. I decided to wait until the public access day to share all of my favorite Nordstrom sale items. With that being said, there are so many other bloggers who have found a lot of the same items and I don’t want to just be repeating everything you guys have already seen.
Watching stories, looking at the LTK app, and seeing all the pics that everyone else has come up with this past week, I was so overwhelmed. It was total Nordstrom overload. Haha.
So, I decided to narrow down a bunch of the sale items and talk about HOW to shop the Nordstrom sale on a budget! It’s important to learn how to shop smarter not harder. This is something I have struggled with for a long time so I thought it would be cool to do a blog post on what I’ve learned so I can help other women too!
How to shop the Nordstrom sale on a budget:
1: Break down your closet by season, so things won’t get so overwhelming. For the sake of this post let’s discuss fall. Look at all of the clothing items you currently have for fall, take out anything you haven’t worn in the past 1-2 years and donate/sell it. This includes fall boots, booties, tennis shoes etc. (This step is always the hardest for me, but just like Marie Kondo says, if it doesn’t spark joy then it needs to go!)
2: Take inventory for what you have kept in your closet & that is how you will decide what to buy during the sale.
3: Set a budget. Most importantly, set your budget before you shop, and STICK to that budget! It doesn’t matter if you splurge on one item, or purchase 14 less expensive items, stick to the budget that is best for your lifestyle. It’s SO easy to get caught up in the hype and over spend.
4: Prioritize the items you need to get you through the fall/winter seasons. I made a list of all the best fall/winter staples for your closet.
5: After you prioritize those items, choose which ones fit the best within your budget.
A lot of the basics from the Nordstrom sale are pretty reasonably priced when considering how much wear you will get out of them. Personally, I don’t mind investing a few extra dollars in staple pieces that I know I will get a lot of wear out of. Its a smarter investment to buy higher quality items if its something you will wear more often.
A few personal favorites from the sale:
Some of my favorite items are these tan booties. You can’t go wrong with a skinny jean & bootie outfit. I feel like booties are an easy way to take an outfit from casual to dressy-casual for a night out. Another must have are the lace cami’s. They will go with everything, you can dress them up or down, and they are a great layering piece. I did a blog post last year about camo and leopard being a huge trend, but this year it is supposed to be even bigger. I am in love with this leopard cardigan, and this leopard pullover, and the price point isn’t too bad either. Leopard is a neutral, and will go with just about everything. These over the knee boots are a steal if you are in need of a pair. I hope this was helpful for y’all and a little motivation to shop smarter. I tried to pick my favorites from each category that every woman should have in her closet .
